Yi Yi (2000)

When a family gathering ends with an elderly relative slipping into a coma, three generations of the Jian family find their lives quietly unfolding over the span of a year. A young boy becomes obsessed with photographing the back of peoples heads. His sister navigates first love, while her father reconnects with someone from his past. Edward Yang spent nearly a decade away from filmmaking before returning with Yi Yi. The film would be his last feature.
